Spotlight on Human Rights – Young Journalists on Tour (BY, PL, D)

Vom 2.-11. Oktober 2010 treffen sich in Krzyzowa (Polen) junge Journalist/innen (16 bis 20 Jahre) aus Deutschland, Polen und Belarus zum Auftaktseminar der dreiteiligen Reihe "Spotlight on Human Rights - Young Journalists on Tour".

Projektbeschreibung:

In trinationalen Dreiergruppen führen die Teilnehmenden Interviews mit Jugendlichen in D, PL und BY, die aus menschenrechtlicher Sicht besonders verletzlichen Gruppen angehören. Von unterwegs berichten die Teilnehmenden via Twitter von ihren Erlebnissen und führen ein Blogtagebuch, in dem Berichte und Fotos hochgeladen werden können. Zum Abschluss jeder Recherchereise in einem Land verfassen die Jugendlichen Artikel in ihrer Muttersprache. Zusammen mit den Fotos von der Reise werden die Artikel auf einer eigens dafür geschaffenen Internetseite veröffentlicht. Anhand der Reiserouten können die Berichte dann aufgerufen werden. Im Anschluss an das Projekt wird aus allen Berichten und Fotos die Projektzeitung „Spotlight“ und eine Ausstellung entstehen.

Die Recherchereisen und Schreibphasen sind eingebettet in ein Programm aus Workshops zu journalistischen Schreibtechniken, Fotografie und Menschenrechtsbildung, die von erfahrenen Trainer/innen geleitet werden. Sie sorgen dafür, dass Menschenrechte nicht nur thematisch im Mittelpunkt stehen, sondern auch das gemeinsame Arbeiten menschenrechtlich gestaltet wird. Zudem wird es Vorträge von Expert/innen, Diskussionen und integrative Aktivitäten geben. Auf den Recherchereisen besteht die Möglichkeit der Betreuung von einer/-em Trainer/-in, falls die Teilnehmenden noch nicht volljährig sind. Auch beim Schreibprozess erhalten alle Hilfestellung von den TrainerInnen. Die Arbeitssprache ist Englisch.

Ziel des Projekts ist es, mit den Reportagen und Fotos ein differenziertes Bild der Lebenswelten von Jugendlichen in Deutschland, Belarus und Polen zu zeigen.

Teilnahme:

Wer? Je sechs Jugendliche zwischen 16 und 20 Jahren aus Deutschland, Belarus und Polen. Ihr bringt erste Erfahrungen im journalistischen Bereich mit und habt Freude am Recherchieren, Schreiben und Fotografieren. Außerdem solltet Ihre eine große Portion Neugierde und Reiselust im Gepäck haben.

Wann und wo? Der erste Teil des Projekts findet vom 2.-11. Oktober 2010 in Krzyzowa und verschiedenen deutschen Städten (Recherchereise) statt. Teil 2 wird in Belarus sein, Teil 3 wird vom 15. bis 21. März 2011 in Polen stattfinden. (Der Termin für Belarus wird in Absprache mit den TeilnehmerInnen festgelegt)

Wieviel? Die Teilnahme (inklusive Programm, Unterkunft, Vollverpflegung) kostet für Teilnehmende aus Deutschland 80,- EUR, für Teilnehmende aus Polen 50,- EUR und für Teilnehmende aus Belarus 30,-. Die Reisekosten nach Krzyzowa werden anteilig erstattet.

Spotlight on Human Rights – Young Journalists on Tour 

From 2nd to10th October, young Journalist (16-20 years old) from Germany, Poland and Belarus will meet in Kreisau in Poland. This will be first of three meetings of the project "Spotlight on Human Rights - Young Journalists on Tour."

Project description:

In tri-national groups, the participants will carry out interviews with young people from Germany, Poland and Belarus, who from the human rights perspective are one of the most vulnerable groups. In addition, the participants will have the opportunity to write about their experiences via Twitter and also create their own blog, where they will upload photos from the journeys. At the end of each research trip the participants will write articles in their native language. The articles and the photos will be published on a special website that will be created for the project. Afterwards an exhibition and a project paper “Spotlight” will be created from all reports and photos.

The research trips and writing phases are part of the program which consists of workshops on journalistic techniques, photography and human rights education. The workshops are led by experienced trainers who will ensure that human rights are not only the central point of the workshops but also that they are met during the work. The programme also includes lectures with experts, discussions and integration activities. In case the participants are under-aged, there is a possibility that a trainer will accompany them during the research trips. During the writing process the participants will also received help from the trainers. The working language is English.

The project's goal is to show a differentiated picture of the young people’s lives from Germany, Belarus and Poland.

Participation: 

Who? 6 participants per country (Belarus, Germany, Poland) who are between 16-20 years old. The participants should have first experience in journalism, willingness to write and take photos, be eager to make research and have curiosity and desire to travel. 

When and where? The first part of the project will take place from 2nd to 10th October 2010 in Kreisau and in couple of German cities (research trips). The second part will be in Belarus and the third one will take place from 15th to 21st March, 2011 in Poland. (The dates of the Belarus part will be determined in consultation with participants). 

How much? The participation fee (programme, accommodation, full board) is: 80 EUR for participants from Germany, 50 EUR for participants from Poland and 30 EUR for participants from Belarus. The travel costs to Kreisau will be partly reimbursed.
