Vilnius University Library and European Humanities University Institute for Historical Research on Belarus would like to invite you to the exhibition “Belarus ethnographer Isaak Serbov: the collection of photographs (1911–1913) in the Manuscript Department of Vilnius University Library”. These photographs were made by the Belarus ethnographer Isaak Serbov (1871–1941) in Minsk governorate Babruysk, Barysov, Chervyen, Mazyr, Pinsk, Rechytsa and Slutsk counties. The exhibition is a rare possibility to see the life of Belarusian people almost one hundred years ago.
We hope that this collection will attract attention of researchers of Belarus traditions, culture, national costume and architecture.
The exhibition will be open in the corridor of Lithuanian Studies Reading Rooms at VU Library (Universiteto 3, third floor) until 22nd of October, 2010.
See the photos from the exhibition opening here.
