Bill Crandall: The Waiting Room - Belarus

Despite fast rivers of change just over the horizon in all directions, the feeling in Belarus is one of waiting. Not anticipation, more a kind of resignation that change will not be swift and transformative, but could take awhile, perhaps generations.

Clocks tick more slowly in waiting rooms. The air may have gone stale, and no one really knows when or from which door they'll be called. But historically Belarusians have been pretty stoic people, they know how to wait.
