EU journalists to visit Belarus

A study visit will bring together 13 journalists from EU member states to Minsk between 21 – 24 July.

The visit is aimed to spread more information in the EU member states about specific projects implemented in Belarus in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP). The workshop includes a one-day programme in Brussels followed by an intensive three-day study tour to Belarus. During the visit the journalists will examine the EU's relations with Belarus as well as its political and economic dynamics through meetings, briefings and field visits. Participating reporters will be briefed by a wide range of sources featuring Belarusian officials, diplomats, local authorities, civil society organizations, independent experts and media representatives. The programme also includes a visit to the Information Centre for Sustainable Development and Ecotourism, recently opened in Navapolatsk, Vitebsk region, within the project "Sustainable Development at the Local Level" supported by the EU and UNDP.

The workshop is part of the European Neighbourhood Policy series of briefings organized with the financial support of European Commission's Directorate General for External Relations. It is organized in partnership with the European Journalism Center, Delegation of the European Union to Belarus and Belarusian Association of Journalists.
