The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) is the oldest political foundation in Germany with a rich tradition in social democracy dating back to its foundation in 1925. The work of the foundation focuses on the core ideas and values of social democracy \u2013 freedom, justice and solidarity. The Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation supports friendly relations between the Poles and the Germans. For the last 30 years, the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation has co-financed 16 000 bilateral projects, thereby contributing to the foundations of Polish-German dialogue. At the core of the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation activity is the conviction that the Poles and the Germans as equal partners can jointly strive for a modern, open and socially just coexistence in the European Union. In view of the dramatic situation in Belarus, the Arbeitskreis Belarus (Working Group on Belarus) was formed in August 2020 for exchange among German NGOs \/ foundations \/ experts and has quickly established itself as an important forum for expertise and contacts to Belarus. More than 100 representatives from civil society, politics and expert groups are currently members of the working group and regularly take part in its activities.
